Can I set a constant (fixed) value for a field in a target CRM?

April 28th, 2025

Sometimes, you may need to migrate all your records with a specific value in the target CRM, even if no corresponding field exists in the source CRM. Common examples include assigning all migrated records to a specific business unit or setting a uniform lifecycle stage.

Let’s walk through how to set a constant value for a Lifecycle Stage during migration — for example, migrating all contacts as Marketing Qualified Leads.

Steps to Set a Constant Value:

  1. Open the Contacts object during the Map Fields stage and click on Unmapped Fields.

  2. In the left panel, you’ll see a list of unmapped properties; the right panel will initially be blank. Click on any source field to view the list of available target fields.

  3. Use the search function to find and select Lifecycle Stage among the target fields.
Then, in the right panel, click Set Constant Value.

  4. From the list of options, select Marketing Qualified Lead. Ensure that the Lifecycle Stage is active on the right-hand side.

  5. Click Apply and close the window. Your new mapping will now appear at the top of the page.
