What does the error "You don't have access to this entity method. Check the application permissions" mean?

The error "You don't have access to this entity method. Check the application permissions" can come up when you are trying to create custom fields using the MigrateMyCRM mapping UI.

This usually means that your user doesn't have enough permissions to access and create any properties on the specific CRM board: 

If you encounter this error, check with your CRM admin if you can be granted access to edit CRM boards you are migrating to and need to create custom fields at. 

Once you have your permissions upgraded, refresh the mapping page and try to create a custom field again.
