Tactical Rundown:

Please, note that the following import is possible only by using CSV files from Dropbox.

To perform successful data migration from CSV file into CRM with the relations between the records, you should attempt the following recommendations:

1. All the modules you want to migrate should be placed in different CSV files. That means that each file will contain single-type info (e.g., 1st is for contacts, 2nd - is for deals, 3rd - is for notes, etc.).

2. Avoid starting migration without uploading all CSV files you want to keep relations between.
As well, if your primary modules (with which your CSV files have relations) are not migrated - all your CSV files will be imported to the target CRM with the relations to the default (or any randomly selected) record or even without relations.
For example:

a) In case your CSV files (e.g., notes) have relations to contacts on your current CRM, then you should migrate that module (contacts) to the target system as well.
b) If your CSV files have relations with contacts AND opportunities - in this case, you should migrate both (contacts + opportunities) to your future CRM solution.

Also, the primary records (those that have relations to CSV files) must be migrated as well.

3. Please ensure that each record has a link to the corresponding data in another CSV file. That is the way every Entity will have similar relations in the new CRM (e. g., Contact -> Deal -> Notes). Otherwise, your data will be migrated without connections to each other.

NoteBefore starting a migration, it is strongly recommended to make sure your CSV contains actual relation links!

A CSV is a comma-separated values file that allows data to be saved in a table-structured format. Traditionally they take the form of a text file containing information separated by commas. CSVs look like a garden-variety spreadsheet but with a .csv extension.

Requirements for the CSV file:

      • The file should contain the Column “id” or “Id”
      • Separator character - comma ( , )

4. Initiate your Demo Migration and upload your CSV files.
Note. The uploading files sequence does not matter, and the establishment of the link does not depend on this.
