After completing a sample migration (also known as a demo), review the results to determine whether any field or relationship mappings need to be updated before proceeding with the full migration.
Keep the following points in mind:
-
Limited Record Scope: A sample migration does not transfer the full set of associated records or activities due to volume limits. For example, if a source company has 10 linked contacts, only a few may be included in the sample. You can verify whether a missing contact was part of the sample by searching for its ID in the migration report. If the contact’s ID appears in the report but is not associated with its company in the target system, review the relationship mapping settings for the Contacts object.
-
Post-Sample Adjustments Are Normal: It’s common to revise field mappings or record-matching rules after reviewing the sample migration results. Please note that these changes will only take effect in your target CRM during the next migration run.
