Why Target Salesforce Users Are Unavailable (greyed out) for Matching During Migration

To ensure your records are correctly associated in Salesforce—your target CRM—you need to complete the user matching process as part of your migration setup.

If you notice during the matching step that some Salesforce users are unavailable (greyed out) in the interface, it means those users are inactive.

Important Salesforce Limitation:
Salesforce does not allow records to be assigned to inactive users without a valid license. Therefore, you can only match to active Salesforce users.

You can view the list of inactive users directly within the user matching interface:

To reactivate a user in Salesforce:

  1. Navigate to SettingsUsersUsers.

  2. Locate the desired user in the list and click Edit.

  3. Check the Active box to set the user as active.

  4. Save your changes.

After reactivating the necessary users, return to the Matching step in the migration wizard and click Refresh.

This will update the list of available target users, allowing you to select the newly activated accounts.
