Migrating Emails with MigrateMyCRM: What You Need to Know
You can migrate emails from your current CRM to your new CRM using MigrateMyCRM, provided that neither platform imposes technical restrictions on this type of data.
Platform-Specific Constraints
Some CRMs have limitations when it comes to email storage and accessibility:
-
Copper CRM
Copper does not physically store emails on its servers. Instead, email correspondence is only displayed in the UI through integration with your email client. As a result, emails cannot be exported or migrated. -
Zoho and Pipedrive
These platforms do not support the migration of historical emails. Instead, you can set up a new email integration with Gmail or Outlook directly within the CRM.
Workaround: A common approach is to migrate emails as another object type, such as Notes.
How to Migrate Emails as Notes
MigrateMyCRM allows you to convert email correspondence into Notes. You can map several fields from your source CRM, such as: To, From, CC, BCC, Create date, Subject, and Email Body into the Note content field during the migration. Read more about this mapping feature.
For some CRMs like Pipedrive or Freshsales, user-specific API tokens must be provided in order to migrate their email correspondence. Ensure these tokens are available before starting the migration process.
