Bulk creation of records in your new CRM can trigger automatic processes, such as workflows, deduplication rules, and notifications. To minimize disruptions to your daily operations, we recommend taking the following steps in advance:
-
Schedule Your Migration Wisely
Plan your migration for a period of low to no activity in your target CRM. Friday evening after business hours is often the best time. -
Refresh Record Matching
If your target CRM had already contained data before you started the migration process, you’ve likely performed records matching for Users, Contacts, or Companies to prevent duplicate creation. Return to this step in the migration wizard and refresh your matching before starting the full migration so as not to miss recent updates. -
Review the Pre-Migration Checklist
Go through our recommended pre-migration checklist before proceeding: Full Migration Checklist. These are general best practices and may not all apply to your specific case.
Once you start the migration, our wizard will display progress bars and time estimates for each stage. The initial phases—such as configuration and clearing previous migration results—may take some time, depending on the number of records. It’s normal not to see new data immediately in your target CRM.
No worries if your team keeps updating data in your source CRMs during the migration process and results checking. After validating the initial migration results, you can run a delta migration to capture any changes made in the meantime.
* Additional note
If you discover any missing data due to incorrect mapping or matching, you have the option to re-run the full migration. However, because this is a time-consuming process, we strongly recommend double-checking your sample data first, as it’s much easier to re-migrate.
