Overview of a MigrateMyCRM data migration

These are the main steps in MigrateMyCRM process flow:

  1. Connect CRMs
  2. Map objects and fields
  3. Start Sample Migration
  4. Review Results & Pricing
  5. Update the Mapping if necessary
  6. Complete Full Migration
  7. Delta migration (optional)

1. Connect CRMs

We offer a variety of automatic connection types depending on your source and target system.

  • oAuth = used as a way for internet users to grant websites or applications access to their information on other websites without giving them the passwords. This is essentially your login credentials for the selected system.
  • Files = CSV imports
  • Database = credentials to connect to a database remotely (host, port, database name, user's name, and password)
  • API key = a unique identifier used to authenticate a user, developer or calling program to an API

Note: 

  • If either your source or target system is not automatically supported, we will need to complete a Custom Migration for you instead.
  • This requires more involvement from our team, but we will complete the migration entirely for you.

 

If successful, the connection card(s) will change states.

2. Select a quick or a more detailed way to start a Sample Migration

You're now presented with 2 routes.

We recommend going the "Customize Your Migration" route to make sure that your CRM objects and user accounts are mapped correctly.

This will start a free sample migration of ~10% randomized records from your source CRM, auto-map, and migrate them into your new target CRM.

 

One important note is that a sample migration does not migrate all relations. 

This stage takes only a limited subset of your source data, and there's a chance that an associated record was not selected.

You can validate this in your after-migration web report. If the ID of an account or contact is not listed there, the record didn't participate in the sample.

Don't worry about removing the migrated sample data. It's done automatically when you start a new migration. You can clean up sample records (and only them!) if you decide not to proceed with your data migration using our tool.

3. Review Mappings & Pricing

Once the sample migration is completed, you will receive the sample migration results for the migrated records, along with video instructions on how to review. You can export the results of migration to a zip file with CSV reports for each object, and get the estimated full migration cost.

If you need to update your data mapping or set filters for your records, you can navigate to the previous steps using the top menu of the wizard.

4. Review Mappings & Matching

MigrateMyCRM allows you to refine your upcoming migration results on these stages:

  1. Select Objects
  2. Map Fields
  3. Match Users & Records

Then you can repeat the sample migration process. You’ll receive an email notification on the migration status once completed via email. It’s free.


5. Complete Full Migration

When you’re happy with all of these steps, purchase the full migration on the sample review page.

Once your credit card information is processed, the full migration process will start automatically.

You’ll receive an email notification on the migration once done.
